About the documentary

The documentary brings to light fascinating stories about climate action, strategies for adaptation and mitigation in Aotearoa New Zealand. The film is a realistic account of our journey to find answers to the following questions:

  • Are there any practical solutions to climate change?
  • What can we do individually and collectively as communities, businesses and governments to address the climate change impacts?
We bring key insights from ordinary people, climate scientists, indigenous leaders, academics, economists, businesses, and local government officials who have been leading the way in tackling climate change. We would like to share these stories to create awareness and accelerate widespread societal action and system change to address the climate crisis.

Background

The reality of climate change is undeniable. With extreme weather events, rising sea levels, more intense heat waves and destructive sea surges, it is clear that climate change will continue to affect our environment, impact our economy and daily lives. There are many climate solutions that have the potential to reduce these impacts. However, these initiatives are poorly coordinated, and therefore there is a huge opportunity   for synergies to be identified for collective action, scale up and expansion these climate solutions for enhanced climate mitigation.
