The documentary brings to light fascinating stories about climate action, strategies for adaptation and mitigation in Aotearoa New Zealand. The film is a realistic account of our journey to find answers to the following questions:
The reality of climate change is undeniable. With extreme weather events, rising sea levels, more intense heat waves and destructive sea surges, it is clear that climate change will continue to affect our environment, impact our economy and daily lives. There are many climate solutions that have the potential to reduce these impacts. However, these initiatives are poorly coordinated, and therefore there is a huge opportunity for synergies to be identified for collective action, scale up and expansion these climate solutions for enhanced climate mitigation.
The documentary features people, initiatives and successful strategies that lay a roadmap for Aotearoa to progress towards a sustainable and equitable future. Along with inspiring stories, we have also tried to capture the passion and vision of inspiring climate action leaders including:
Shaun Awatere (Manaaki Whenua Landcare Research), James Watson (DEANZ), William Wright (MNZM) Kaipara Moana Remediation, Jennifer Nickel (Regional Councillor,Waikato),Thomas Nash (Regional Councillor,Wellington), Margaret Barbour (University of Waikato), Lara Tailor (Ngāti Tahu, Ngāti Pāhauwera, Ngāi Tahu ki Murihiku, Manaaki Whenua Landcare Research), Zoe Studd (Love Rimurimu), Tane Bradley & Clare Bradley (Agrisea), Nicki Douglas (Te Arawa Lakes Trust), James Renwick (Climate Scientist), Jo Wrigley (Go Eco), Clyde Sutton (Environmentalist) and Kate Raworth (Economist & Author-Doughnut Economics).
